Short Bio:	Cheryl is an award-winning illustrator of over 25 books for children. She also has contributed to many reading series for (to name a few) Pearson, Scholastic, Harcourt and Zaner-Bloser, and has artwork in Highlights for Children, Calliope, Appleseeds and more. She specializes in multicultural and historic subject matter, from Japanese folktales to immigrant stories to Native American legends. She has degrees in both education and illustration, and currently teaches and advises for the Children’s Book Illustration certificate program at Rhode Island School of Design-CE.

Program Info

Program Descriptions:	Cheryl specializes in multi-cultural and historic illustration for children, and has researched and illustrated stories about subjects as varied as Hmong weddings, American immigrants and ancient Chinese musical instruments. Ms. Noll is available to do up to four 45-minute presentations a day. With a richly illustrated powerpoint presentation, she tells students how she became an illustrator and explains how a book is created -from concept through printing. She completes the presentation with a drawing demonstration. She stresses process (planning, research, revision, final work).
