Suzy Becker entered the world of books with what would become the internationally bestselling All I Need to Know I Learned from My Cat, now in the Double-Platinum Collector's Edition All I Need to Know I Learned from My Cat (And Then Some). Her books, cartoons, greeting cards and work in print and TV advertising have earned her numerous design and writing awards.
Suzy Becker has also received the Anti-Defamation League's "A World of Difference" Award for her community service initiatives, including the Ride For AIDS Resources (Ride FAR), the country's first HIV/AIDS bike-a-thon which has raised over $1,000,000 for HIV/AIDS service organizations. Suzy was also the founding arts teacher at the Parker Charter School in Ayer, MA.
She lives with her family, a dog and two formerly feral cats in central Massachusetts.

Program Descriptions:
Sample programs- Suzy will design programs (power point lecture or workshop) to meet your audience/curricular specifications
Kids Make It Better (Grades 1 - 4)- Kids learn how Suzy became an author and her book became a book (complete with Suzy's 3rd grade journal, sketches, art, etc.). Then they get to solve a world problem. Suzy incorporates their solutions into one big drawing. Suzy presents Make It Better certificates to all participants.
Manny's Cowapalooza (Pre-K - 2nd grade)- Kids learn to make buter (and tell their best cow jokes while the butter's being made) before reading Manny's Cows with a drawing demonstration and butter tasting at the end.
Cartoon-along (Grades 2 - 6)- Kids get to see Suzy's development as a cartoonist, from her earliest mouse drawings to her nationally published panel cartoons. Then kids develop their own characters and panel/strip cartoons.
No more boring biographies! (Middle school/High school)- Students use Suzy's life story to develop oral history/biography/creative non-fiction writing skills.
Program Pricing:
$1500 for full day school visit, maximum 4 classroom presentations plus signing. $850/half day. $500/presentation. Fee does not include travel, and may be split between two schools.
