Congratulations to Lita Judge

New Hampshire SCBWI member Lita Judge has been named a Gold Award winner in the 2007 National Parenting Publications Awards (NAPPA) for her book, One Thousand Tracings: Healing the Wounds of World War II. Full results will be announced Nov. 1, 2007, in 40 regional parenting magazines across the country and online at Parenthood.com.

Congratulations, Lita!!!

One Thousand Tracings is Lita’s first picture book as author and illustrator. Her newest book, D is for Dinosaur, has just been released this month. For more information go to LitaJudge.com.

Children’s Literature Conference - 14 April 2007

The Children's Literature Conference featuring Jeannie Brett, Marty Kelly, Michael Daley, and Jessie Haas, takes place on Saturday, April 14th.

Our own NESCBWI member, Jeannie Brett, has illustrated titles such as L is for Lobster, A Maine Alphabet Book, One if by Land, A Massachusetts Number Book, M is for Mayflower, and P is for Passport.

Marty Kelley is the author of picture books The Rules, Winter Woes, and Summer Stinks has a talent for understanding children and their problems and deals with them humorously. His workshops share a lot and keep you laughing from start to finish.

Michael Daley is a Vermont author whose newly published Shanghaied to the Moon will delight upper elementary and secondary students and young writers. Michael will illustrate step by step from idea to finish the process of getting your book published. Michael will be accompanied by author Jessie Haas.

Nancy White Cassidy Illustrator Workshops in VT, NJ

Illustrator Nancy White Cassidy will conduct her 5-day ILLUSTRATING CHILDREN'S BOOKS workshop in Vermont and New Jersey this summer. For New Jersey, the workshop will be held at Peters Valley Craft Center in Layton, NJ. The dates are Friday, July 13th through Tuesday, July 17th. Fall Folio Fest - 7-8 October 2005

New England SCBWI Illustrator Anna J. Boll is coordinating a Fall Folio Fest through the Maine Illustrators' Collective. Sign up and help reduce Anna's stress!

The event is going to be at the Whitney Artworks Gallery [in Portland, Maine,] where there is no need for a plan B incase of rain. We have positive responses from about 15 art buyers and 20 illustrators... Tell five illustrators you know in the New England area about this event and make them sign up.
