Children's Book Illustration exhibit at New Art Center in Newton, MA
The New Art Center in Newton, MA, will exhibit "The Visions & Voices of Children's Book Illustrators," featuring the work of thirteen contemporary artists. Over one hundred pieces including original illustrations, books, drawings, computer generated images, sketchbooks and videos will illuminate a wide range of artistic perspectives and themes.
This exciting and vibrant exhibit will feature the work of thirteen contemporary artists with an abundance of inventive, humorous and thought provoking work. Over one hundred pieces including original illustrations, books, drawings, computer generated images, sketchbooks and videos will illuminate a wide range of artistic perspectives on themes such as adventure, fantasy, folktales, historical figures, friendship and a celebration of the every day.
Participating illustrators include: Cece Bell (VA), Ashley Bryan (ME), Rebecca Doughty (MA), Timothy Basil Ering (MA), Douglas Florian (NY), Maya Christina Gonzalez (CA), Yumi Heo (NY), Jarrett J. Krosoczka (MA), Grace Lin (MA), Christopher Myers (NY), Giselle Potter (NY), Donald Saaf (VT), and Malcah Zeldis (NY).
The exhibit will also feature hands-on activities, cozy reading areas, story times, and various special related events including an Opening Reception on March 23; an Art & Poetry Workshop with Douglas Florian on April 17; and a Book Festival on May 6.
