Words + Pictures Exhibit at Hospital in Providence
In December 2008, Hasbro Children’s Hospital and Imago Foundation for the Arts are presenting an exhibit called "WORDS + PICTURES: Rhode Island Celebrates Childrens’ Books" at Hasbro Children’s Hospital and Rhode Island Hospital.
Participating writers and artists include: Mary Jane Begin, Christoper Denise, Anika Denise, Marlo Garnsworthy, Jill LaMere, Ellen Blomgren, and Mara Berkley.
"Words + Pictures" includes original paintings and sculptures based on such familiar and new books as The Wind in the Willows, Redwall, and Pigs Love Potatoes. Highlights of the monthlong celebration are:
1 Dec: signings by the authors and illustrators in the Rhode Island Hospital cafeteria.
2-10 Dec: workshops for children in the hospital by different participating artists.
11 Dec, 5-7 PM: opening reception in the Hasbro Children’s Hospital upper lobby. All invited.
