Illustration Poster Showcase at 2008 New England Conference

Illustrators attending SCBWI New England's 2008 conference, "Take Flight" and enter the Illustration Poster Showcase!

For the 2008 conference, illustrators can participate in an anonymous, themed, and juried poster competition. Create and show your best piece of final art on the theme “Take Flight.” A jury from the conference faculty will judge the posters on their storytelling, character, setting, color, focus, and composition.

There will be 3 prizes awarded:

  • Best in Show by a published artist - jury selection
  • Best in Show by an unpublished artist - jury selection
  • People’s Choice Award - selected by conference attendees!
Entries must be reproductions only; no original art will be accepted. Eligible pieces can be vertical or horizontal, not to exceed 20" by 20." The prints must be mounted on foam core or illustration board and entirely self-standing. Artists will supply their own table top stand or travel easel. The artwork will be anonymously displayed Saturday morning. Voting will take place early that day. SCBWI New England cannot take responsibility for loss or damage to artwork.

All participating artists are encouraged also to bring fifty (50) copies of a promotional postcard or tearsheet to be distributed to all faculty and staff at the conference.

Entrance fee: $25.00, due with conference registration. When registering for the poster showcase, indicate whether you are published or unpublished. For more information, contact Laura Jacques.
